@levi this is kind of a nonsense complaint though, particularly when you consider that the GECOS field is traditionally divided into real name, phone number, and office location — but I don’t see anyone complaining that passwd is bloated and serves corporate interests.
People just like to whine about systemd.

@benjamineskola No, they don't! there's plenty of things to complain about and people have made whole websites on the matter. what I was getting at is Age verification and the fact that some contributors to systemd are in favor of that, mainly because they want Linux to be compliant, so corporations keep using it.. doesn't that serve corporate interest and go against FOSS principles? Also, I don't see any Age verification mechanisms discussed on passwd, which makes me think we have different definitions on what is "bloat"?(something to be expected)
