@nblr something working doesn’t mean it’s not stupid. A AAA battery and a AA battery? The AAA would run out faster needing to be replaced and you have to stock two different types of batteries.

    @griffin30007 It's either/or, isn't it? Not all that dumb. I guess a battery charger can get away with sticking both types into the same compartment that just has a little ledge for AAA, but it's more secure that way if the compartment has to be upside down. @nblr

    @griffin30007 @nblr It's a clever but silly-looking "lockout* system that lets you use one AA or one AAA, but without letting you mix different cell sizes at once. So it's actually meant to allow you to use whatever you happen to have on hand instead of needing one specific kind of battery.

    @griffin30007 @nblr No. They cross over so you physically cannot use both at the same time. You choose one or the other, and if you only have one in stock, you don't have to go out and find the other type!

    @griffin30007 @nblr you don't need to put both...just one

    @griffin30007 Wow, you really missed the point: “OR” Just use the battery you have. @nblr

    @griffin30007 @nblr the two batteries having different capacities means the AAA drops voltage faster than the AA and the AA would very slightly charge the AAA, increasing wear on both. i'm guessing the AA and AAA compartments aren't meant to be used at the same time (which is why they're arranged in a cross) but rather are wired in parallel so either 1.5v battery will work in the slot for convenience
