Saw an AI influencer-type on another social network say &gt; It’s been shocking to see Claude go from an AI model that seemed one upgrade away from taking over most of the routine tasks in my day job to not even being able to reliably download a webpage without lots of prompting. I&#39;m excited for people who claimed &quot;the models are 90% there but if line keeps going up we&#39;ll be at 110% soon&quot; to hit a wall at approximately 130mph

@darius while very few things are truly in our control, it is wild to me how people have become so embedded with black box commercial products that are constantly being iterated on. I can still use Python 2.7 if I want to.

@darius it's astonishing, if nothing else, to discover in the mid-2020s this massive population of people who have apparently never before in their lives used a software product controlled by evil megacorporations and thus retain such a wide-eyed capacity for surprise

@darius Anyone expecting a Tamagotchi to do "most of their routine tasks" is openly admitting to being textbook proof of the Peter principle.
