When asking people to use correct names is "crossing a line," but using incorrect names isn't, we've really fallen far as a society. Using the correct name used to be a day one thing in education. "Robert?” "I prefer Grace.” "Excellent, welcome Grace.” It's not difficult. @adhdeanasl https://beige.party/@adhdeanasl/116414682455732841

  • @macmanx @adhdeanasl cis allies take note: this is how you do allyship. by sticking your neck out for trans people in material ways, even at significant consequence to yourself.

@adhdeanasl The “I should be allowed to openly and obnoxiously disrespect and call for your rights to be removed, but your reasonable ask to be called the name you identify as is minorly inconveniencing me and that’s why the world is terrible”-crowd is quite the low point of human decency circling the drain.

@macmanx @adhdeanasl For politicians and administrators, schools are for putting kids in their place, and once they are in their place, for teaching them to pass standardized tests. Fuck that. Keep fighting the good fight!

@macmanx @stevegrunwell @adhdeanasl I don’t go by my first name, and I never once had a teacher have a problem when I said, “I go by ‘Ben,’” as they called roll. It really isn’t difficult.
