Infrastructure Team: great news! We built you a thing that automatically disables tests when they start failing!
Us: we do not want that. Why did you build that?
IT: if your tests are failing then they're not giving you any value anyhow! This way we get more capacity back from the test farm.
Us: what will we do with this extra capacity?
IT: run more tests! Or run the same amount of tests but with less waiting.
Us: but only tests that pass?
Us: if you turn this on we will sue.

@gnomon Infrastructure team: ... have you looked at how many failing tests that have been failing for months that some other groups have? (Now I'm curious what their metrics for 'resources used by failing tests' are telling them. And what such metrics could tell people if they were surfaced generally. Presumably a steady upward trend is bad news ...)
