@nazokiyoubinbou @scribblemacher I grew up with Castlevania 2 and loved it. Beat it many times as a kid but looking back I can understand some of the hate. The translation is lackluster & not very helpful and some of the puzzles are completely obtuse.
I probably never would have beaten it if not for Nintendo Power.
Aside from the translation & some of the cryptic puzzles however, it was a ton of fun. Great graphics, great music, fun gameplay & an atmosphere like no other game at the time.

@Judeau @scribblemacher Right, the thing is, if you're actually playing the actual game it's actually fun. Sure those were frustrating points, absolutely (though only one puzzle stumped us. I did eventually figure it out through sheer stubbornness literally trying everything, but I wouldn't today. Then again, today I have the Internet to ask...) Really, by the time everyone was told to hate it those particular problems really were no big deal since, as I said, there was the Internet by then.
