Ours water dispenser at home is a ceramic crock we invert onto after removing the lid entirely plus we have a delivery service (we’re on a well and don’t test the water frequently enough for my comfort) so I’ve never paid attention to the lid situation at the refill just noted where it is in case we ever need it.
I assume you have a system where it punctures the lid?

@MCDuncanLab yeah, there exists silicon lids with a punchable part that's tethered, but I have idea how good any of them are if you invert the jug.
