Amtrak is not bad at all for short trips. For a longer journey, forget about it. Try looking at travel from Boston to anywhere south of DC.

Eh, I think driving is still cheaper... According to google: 150 miles (approximate distance) for a Toyota Rav 4 is approximately $20 in gas one way... $40 both ways... saving $14 xD (wear and tear blah blah its not immediate so as far as their frugal brains go, its cheaper... Oh yea... they'll probably need to go together... so two tickets would be over $100 Lesson Learned: Travel by driving is cheaper if you have more than 1 person)
