i won't go on too long about this, lest i be accused of "not reading until the end," and i'll take my comments to their synchronous, scheduled, discussion time, if i can find the time to do so, i guess, but i disagree with the core analogy of the post, that students without a lot of experience newly joining the community of leet haxors in 1993 and every september onward are comparable in any way to people who have embraced ai tools while ignoring all the damage that comes of it

@pho4cexa yeah, that was a very depressing read. I don't understand how anyone who loves and uses free software could look at llm generated/assisted code going into free software projects without massive discomfort. It's been shocking just how quickly that assumption was proven wrong. It's literally everywhere, and that happened seemingly overnight. But then to read this? Gross.
