If a guy-line is a rope or cable used to restrain the motion of something, like a tent or a mast, then what's a gal-line or an enby-line used for?

@pockets For the longest time I thought it was "guide wire" (or line). Which made sense to me. But when I learned it was "guy" it made 0 sense to me.

@pockets If a guyline is a structural element always under tension, then a galpost is always under compression and an enbystrut is sometimes pulled and sometimes pushed.

@pockets it's the same as with male/female plumbing connectors. A gal-line is like a guy-line except concave instead of convex
