This system will also, of course, end up being illegal. But there is a chance that it may get wide enough adoption so that it can exist nevertheless.

@richpuchalsky@mastodon.social This would be incredible. I could imagine those machines shipping with a custom operating system, ideally not built with any "AI" slop. Perhaps forked from UNIX or the Linux kernel before Torvalds starting using the slop machines? Or maybe some people will be so fed up they decide to design something all their own? This could be maintained by people who hate Microslop and other companies going hard on "AI" this anarchist OS company could be a collective of people who are disaffected by the evil of Silicon Valley. I think what you have here is a supremely good idea!

I suspect that there is no way that this could happen as made by people working in the US. There simply is not enough of the right kind of political culture in the US. Perhaps it could happen as done by a mixture of trans refugees from the US together with people who they now live among.
