I wanted interlocking pen loops coming from the inside covers, so I marked these out on the flesh side of the red leather. Because there is only just enough leather, these had to be cut with the tabs at the middle of the piece.
I used a circular die to give rounded edges, although that didn't work as well as I'd liked. After skiving the area to be glued, I rolled the pen loops back on themselves and waited for them to dry.

Next job was to glue the edges of the inner panels to the outer cover. Because space was tight due to the leather only just being large enough, I only had about a 4mm edge to glue. Then I used some pricking irons to mark out the stitch holes before using saddle stitch to sew them together. The sewing alone took almost 2 hours. 3/5
