A nice little #leatherwork project this morning was a case for my #XTEINK X4 ereader. I didn't take many photos of the build process, but I started with cutting the bottom panel of leather to size in cutting some slots for a strap on the back. Then glued in some stiff white plastic so that the MagSafe ring had something to stick to. The plastic/leather were then punched for stitching holes and saddle stitched all the way around. 1/2

As a teenager, it was always exciting when a friend bought their first car and came to show it off. (Second only to when I actually bought my first car and showed it off!). As an adult, new cars get less and less exciting. ("It's just like my previous one, except black instead of grey") However, an elderly friend has just got their first mobility scooter. And I have to admit, that's a bit exciting!

As I am teaching myself leatherwork, I bought some cheap pieces of leather from AliExpress (Less than £1 each) I wanted a nice little notebook cover, and although the colours don't match, I figured it would be a good test piece. I had an idea that I wanted to try for a pen holder and closure too. The size is only just large enough. Top and bottom needs trimming, but width is just about wide enough. Thread. 1/5

Yesterday my #XTEINK X4 arrived. Flashing the Crosspoint firmware went pretty smoothly, although backing up the stock Chinese firmware took ages and probably wasn't necessary. The device looks really clear, and feels comfortable in the hand. I'm looking forward to reading a few more ebooks again. Thanks @concretedog for bringing this to my attention.

If you're wondering if I will ever finish #RC2014Towers the answer is yes. And today saw some progress with some of the front cladding going on. Admittedly it's the easy part of it, but it's a step in the right direction. (Also I need to build a step)
