@beanclock Do they not have sub rolls by you? https://breadtopia.com/classic-submarine-sandwich-rolls/ long-slicing your pain de mie offers no structural support. It's nice way of constructing a cake, but a sandwich ought to be at least nominally edible without chopping it in two or more pieces.
