A question for people in western Massachusetts, especially folks who know about birds. Is it possible that there are now ravens here? I've never seen them before on the East Coast, always in the Rockies or on the northwest coast. #birds #ravens #berkshires

@CuriousMagpie I see/hear more ravens than crows where I am in Western MA. Just yesterday one “gave me the business“ as it flew over my house.

@CuriousMagpie they are very common in Maine. So I’m going to go with “yes”.

@CuriousMagpie I'd heard about ravens in Vermont when I lived on the east coast (I'd have to get up to check, but I also think Bernd Heinrich studied ravens at UVM when he wrote Mind of the Raven). So, not too far from western Mass. Never saw them in Connecticut though.

@CuriousMagpie Even in eastern MA, ravens aren't unusual. Like bald eagles, they've become significantly more common over the past couple of decades.
