People on the right will generally find their side's art as propaganda repulsive and distasteful, the left will gobble up whatever pushes their ideology and happily ask for more, only disowning it if it fails and rewriting history to say they never liked it in the first place

@Vidmastereon@detroitriotcity.com I can do one better. So there was this game called Tamashika that was nicknamed "troonslop" and called all sorts of shit by the online right and Twitter peanut gallery because of how aesthetically trashy it looked, but the "crusty anarchist subversive punk bro" left was gobbling it up. Then someone on Twitter pointed out that it was being funded and published by Harmony Korine (director of Kids, Gummo, etc.), who was at an IDF fundraiser in 2023 and the dev also is pro-Israel. Suddenly, everyone stopped pretending it was good.

  • @Vidmastereon@detroitriotcity.com Well sorry if I'm an unhelpful rightoid but I'm not willing to consume shit just because it comes with a Hitler seal of approval. "Rightwing" stuff can just, you know, be good. Lord of the Rings doesn't need to be shameless propaganda to showcase beauty and tradition in a positive light, nor does any rightwing person need to be encouraged/forced to read the books or watch the movies because it's simply good and that's enough reason to do it.
