@williamfields yo you might enjoy this NIME paper. i've been working on a max implementation of the DSP it describes, it's a way to persist these sorts of edge of chaos feedback systems in audio. maybe there would be some analogous ways compute "complexity" in your system and then re-map that back onto params to find the goldilocks spots anyway, just a good relevant read :) https://www.nime.org/proceedings/2020/nime2020_paper66.pdf
