I swear that autocorrect is changing words after I've told it not to. I check and make sure I've got the word I actually typed, and it changes as I type the next one. That is, when it's not randomly inserting words that start with the same letter

@dwillanski I turned mine off. It takes a little longer to write stuff now because I have to think about it first, but at least all the typos are human typos. It's made no obvious difference, admittedly, except that I'm marginally less annoyed. But as nobody knows I don't use autocorrect I find I'm still able to blame it and so blithely make the arguable best of both depressing worlds.

@dwillanski I think I've seen the exact same effect, it makes me doubt myself - even when I'm sure I checked. My current main gripe is when I carefully swipe the same word four times and it still comes up as something completely different using adjacent letters. That, and when it goes into grammar correct mode after guessing the wrong word rather than just trying the obvious word that would correct the "grammatical error".

@dwillanski It was called 'predictive text' on my tablet. I banished it after it kept using its own words. That was 8 years ago.
