It's always funny to me when individual actors like (supposedly) Luigi get lionized by liberals, but when workers organize and collectively establish state power to oppress capitalists and fascists, these same liberals cry foul. To them, it's somehow a sin to succeed.

The landlord is not "as" rich as a health insurance CEO so they're seen as "one of us" by liberals. They literally only see how much money someone has when determining good or evil, any kind of class theory is totally lost on them. It's also why they think there are "good" police officers just because they don't kill people for sport, or that "mom and pop" small business owners exploiting minimum wage labour is somehow different from corporations doing it.

I think part of it is that those supposed leftists don’t categorize all of those capitalists the same way. It’s like they view billionaire CEOs and landlords as different groups, when the reality is that they fall into the same capitalist bucket. So landlords being stripped of their hoarded properties so that everyone can have a home, is not viewed by them in the same critical light as a CEO that hoards wealth and exploits the working class. I don’t have anything solid to back this up. It’s just my general observation. It all boils down to class consciousness and decoupling oneself from propaganda.
