On a side note: we had an electrician over for a couple of new cables and a subdistribution board. When I opened it to label the cables, I noticed that he hadn&#39;t done any of the safety testing. While doing the testing, I checked connections and ended up redoing most of them. I&#39;m not sure what&#39;s going on with that. No planning, no documentation, no testing. He didnt even have a multimeter with him. And people are wondering why their houses catch on fire. 🤔 I&#39;m glad I opted to do the wiring for lights and socket outlets myself. It&#39;ll be a lot of work but I&#39;ll know it&#39;ll be good to go.

@VintageProject@oldbytes.space A friend (who is an electrician) bought a house where the previous owner paid a lot to "upgrade" the wiring etc. ; He ripped it all out. I found multiple really dangerous things while redoing the wiring and outlets in our house. The main issue is that those companies can get away with doing the bare minimum and most customers will not notice as they have no idea. And now imagine that this is common not just for electrical work but for other "professionals" as well. I really don't want to DIY everything but I really don't want to pay someone a lot of money to do something "professionally" if I could just DIY it better and cheaper.
