Vacation is awesome! You finally get to do things you care about instead of staring into your computer screen and writing pointless e-mails. This time, I can finally install the lights where there was no light before. (Well, single 40W light bulbs, but that's pretty much the same as none) Stairs to the basement and the shed where I plan to do some woodworking in the future. Also, it makes going to the basement a lot safer and getting wood for the stove much easier. Lights for the basement are next. There, we actually have none because people in the 1950s apparently could see in the dark and maintained that superpower well into the 1970s. And if anyone read that far: Yes, I'm qualified for this work, and I know what I'm doing around mains power. ๐Ÿ˜‰ 5V and 3.3V, not so much. ๐Ÿ˜ It feels good to make stuff.

  • By the way, it's the basement. I don't care about looks (beyond a certain tidiness) but rather for accessibility and future modification. And also readability: I want future me (or random electricians) to be able to read the installation without having to remove covers or pull wires. Not a big deal in the examples, but it will be a big thing in the rest of the installation.
