@jon@social.vivaldi.net Unfortunately in a fascist state there are no regulators, only regulatory capture.

@jon@social.vivaldi.net > Where are the regulators? The U.S. ones? AFAIR all blacked out by the DOJ in the files partially released. Welcome to the new brave world ruled by whomever wields the might of law:((

@jon@social.vivaldi.net It depends on where you are. In a lot of places this is not allowed. Many European Regulators, and the EU’s European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), do consider prediction markets gambling and companies are lobbying to get reclassified. I doubt it will work. https://www.engadget.com/2265021/polymarket-lobbying-eu-regulators-to-not-be-seen-as-gambling-website/ #PredictionMarkets

@jon@social.vivaldi.net It's unbelievable to me that there's are people that think they can make money in these markets, when they're better against the people that know the outcome and are the decision makers that will decide it. Online sports gambling is also out of control. I know too many people whose lives have been ruined by gambling. We spent a generation trying to help convince people that gambling is bad. Then all of a sudden embraced it overnight. #MLB #NFL #NBA
