RE: https://fed.brid.gy/r/https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:htdsafwakqmzvuk2oivijzn6/post/3myt3ada7mk2l The word “algorithm” is derived from the family name of Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi, a Persian who lived in Baghdad and not only wrote down the instructions for what we now call “long addition” and “long multiplication” etc. — the instructions that European schools used for 400+ years — but also… …invented algebra. You know, nbd, just a Persian-Arab thing. “They don’t produce science”?!??...

I am liking the new shade of green of the panels at Toronto's St. Patrick station. The old was closer to the colour of the Shamrock ice cream shake, and the new one is less striking and feels more natural to me. The panel replacement is still ongoing. I tried hard to get the white balance to match what I could see. #TTC #Toronto #Trains #Transit

I long knew I would be in Ontario for a Thanksgiving celebration, but I'm relieved my ballot package arrived in Vancouver just in time, mailed last Saturday. I love this tracker tool. #Election #Vancouver #Vote #EvictKenSim

Very glad Ken Sim and the ABC are heading out of office. I like Pete Fry, but I'm generally aligned with COPE except transport/housing policy aligned with OneCity. My crystal ball says these results and McCallum's win in Surrey spell blood in the water for David Eby's #BCNDP next week. If anything Eby needs to spend significant effort in Fraser Valley to push Surrey races in his favour. #BCPoli #BritishColumbia #Vancouver #Election

#BritishColumbia provincial election day is here. If you are eligible and haven't voted yet, go vote! Polls open at 8am and close 8pm today, Oct 24. Once you voted, then sleep, because it's going to take a while to count ballots by hand. #BCPoli

It's never a bad day to post an OG SkyTrain photo when I get nervous over politics I can't control. #AltText #BritishColumbia #Trains #Transit #Vancouver

Uhh, thanks BC. Greens I don't blame you, if any political party or leader is to blame Eby and the party I affiliate with BCNDP is, but honestly he may have just been hastening the inevitable if they weren't going to pass PR in two years outside maybe a study. Every election I blame the people registered but didn't vote, about 1.9million people, who in effect voted for the winner. I can say I tried what I could but even in the lower mainland the result is pretty clear. #...

I am not a perfect person, but at least my eighth grade teacher does not have to take to the streets to denounce me. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/2026/10/26/why-ramaswamys-former-teacher-protested-outside-his-campaign-event/92442532007/ #ohio #ramaswamy

Hier was von mir dazu: https://write.literatur.social/der-hoerold/tag:Dailyklappentext
