There's a real pent-up demand for a Linux distribution as nicely made as Fedora or Elementary, but focused on providing a more classic, retro experience but *with* all the modern amenities. I have high hopes for things like cow, which brings a classic fvwm experience to Wayland: https://codeberg.org/thomasadam/cow Building something from components myself costs time I'd rather spend with my kids, or, I don't know, shoving shards of glass underneath my fingernails.
