This is the second time this year that my full name, email and address has been leaked because a company decided to store sensitive information in an analytics tool :neocat_woozy: I fk hate how people will go “I’d trust *insert proprietary software here* over any open source solution because it has a company backing it”. The only reason you think that is because their source code is closed and you can’t see the idiotic shortcuts they are taking.

Another year. Level 43 now, but like some games, levelling up doesn't always mean making progress. But /unlike/ games, I don't get stronger with each new level and my gear certainly doesn't get better. But I played a cooperative table game with just wifey and NJ tonight, and ate loads of chocolate. So that's good.

Well, it looks like investigators better go back to doing actual investigations in the Fifth Circuit, rather than just assuming a little paperwork and a whole lot of assistance from service providers is going to do their work for them: Another Federal Judge Says Cell Tower Dumps Are Unconstitutional https://www.techdirt.com/2026/08/07/another-federal-judge-says-cell-tower-dumps-are-unconstitutional/

App Store review delays are back to Shoemaker-era levels. Most app reviews seem to be taking 6+ days now — a momentum-crushing delay for a process that has reliably taken 1–3 days for the last 10 years. And this has NOT been a gradual increase since the rise of AI coding across the whole year — it came on suddenly, starting around a month ago. Something over there is on fire, badly neglected, or deeply broken. (Probably all three.) Something has to give. This is unsustainable.
