US Vice President JD Vance has publicly alleged that the late sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein maintained ties to the "highest levels" of both US and Israeli intelligence. Speaking in a wide-ranging interview with podcaster Joe Rogan this week, Vance asserted that the financier operated within the sphere of the CIA, Mossad, and other deep-state elements.
When prompted by Rogan on whether Epstein was a Mossad asset, Vance responded: "Mossad or CIA or some other deep state, whether in America or Israel or some other country … or both."
The Vice President further claimed that Epstein’s Israeli connections were specifically linked to political elements, notably former Prime Minister Ehud Barak. FBI records from 2020 revealed that bureau sources believed the financier was a "co-opted Mossad agent" trained in espionage. These claims arrive as Vance positions himself for a potential 2028 presidential bid, having recently spearheaded a now-collapsed memorandum of understanding with Iran.
Beyond the allegations surrounding Epstein, Vance warned of a "very discreet, extremely well-funded" Israeli influence campaign currently operating within the United States. He specifically cited reports of Israeli-funded digital operations targeting the MAGA base to dismantle diplomatic progress with Tehran, stating:
"I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there have been people within the Israeli government who are trying to, like, actually shift us away from that policy because they want to continue the military campaign."
Vance added that he believes the current cycle of strikes between the US and Iran would likely not be occurring if not for these external pressures, asserting that certain "super-hawkish" actors in the US political system are actively working to sabotage diplomatic efforts
