In the mid-1990s I lived in Vancouver on the Pacific coast, and I was interviewing for a job in Florida. The person interviewing me misunderstood how timezones work. Interview was scheduled for 9am. He thought he had to call me at 6am Eastern Time, which worked out to be 3am Pacific Time for me. Phone rings at 3am. I was half asleep and confused, and he offered to call back in a few hours. I told him nevermind, I'm awake now, let's do the interview! I did end up getting the job, and worked there for some time. (Never forgot you, Tim W.) #Timezones

Pacific Time: Canada's Western Gateway! 🌅 British Columbia runs on Pacific Time, fixed permanently at UTC-7 year-round. Home to Vancouver, Victoria, and most of the province, BC ended its twice-yearly clock changes in 2026 — no more springing forward or falling back. A few northeastern communities like Dawson Creek were already at UTC-7 year-round, so nothing changed for them. #Canada #TimeZones #BritishColumbia #PST https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2026AG0013-000209

Newfoundland's Unique Half-Hour Time Zone! ⏰ Did you know Newfoundland is the only place in North America with its own half-hour time zone? Newfoundland Standard Time (NST) is UTC-3:30, making it 30 minutes ahead of the rest of Atlantic Canada. This unique offset reflects its distinct geographical position in the Atlantic. #Canada #TimeZones #Newfoundland #NST https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newfoundland_Time_Zone
