TangerineUI Classic v2.6.4c2 is out 🍊 The advanced web interface got a proper makeover: navigation on the left, content columns sharing the width equally in the middle, search & compose on the right — the whole deck centred on large screens. Same arrangement you know from the single-column UI, finally consistent. A thread about TangerineUI, the Mastodon theme — its history, and why there's now a "Classic" fork. 🍊🐦 The short version: @nileane@mastodon.social created the original TangerineUI for Mastodon. When she stepped back from maintaining it, @matt_birchler@mastodon.social picked it up as "Tangerine Neue," carrying it through Mastodon's big 4.6 theming overhaul so it kept working at all. #TangerineUI #mastodon #css

@sombragris@mastodon.faithtree.social It does... it's auto dark mode based on system dark mode. Probably my favorite feature of #TangerineUI over the otherwise excellent #BirdUI, which can't do auto switching. (However, you can still switch to Bird UI or default Mastodon in the Appearance preferences…
