In January, a twelve-year-old boy died after being bitten by a shark while swimming in Sydney Harbour. Also in June, a woman was attacked by a shark at one of Australia’s busiest beaches, in Sydney. The woman, a teacher, said she “delivered a nasty hook” to the predator before being dragged underwater. After the attack on June 13th, she was put into a drug-induced coma and part of her left arm was amputated.
