The short-lived Gorsedda slate quarry. Massively capitalised in the late 1850s as the Bangor and Portmadoc Slate and Slate Slab Company, it closed by 1870.
It's nature was best summarised by the words:
"Everything that could facilitate the works was produced, nothing being wanted but the slate vein. There was no quarry there."

Has anyone actually test driven a Slate pickup truck?
I had been under the impression that I could test drive one before I committed to buying one even with my mere $50 deposit, but I guess I lost my delivery window reservation because I didnt commit.

Today I've been kayaking around Seil. And as I passed Easdale along the way I had to stop and see the island and the remains of the slate-industry here.
And obviously enjoy the view.
This was far more impressive than the bridge over the atlantic - though that was fun 😁
Oh. Should you go kayaking there: beware of the tidal current in and out of Cuan Sound. It can turn into a maelstrom. And I did hear that Cuan Sound! It didn't sound healthy!

I'm unexpectedly impressed with the #Slate as I'm seeing it now be an actual thing in preview videos being released today. The freedom of choice that they're offering is a refreshing approach for the automotive industry that has traditionally wanted to lock you in to various options and design decisions.
I put in a pre-order on a whim because it seems like a great vehicle for my kids that could take some beating and be left outside without much regret. #cars
