We have had a decent crop of Venus Flytraps this year. #plants #carnivorousplants #SavageGarden #botany #nature #naturephotography #biodiversity #photography #biology #ecology #venusflytrap

Found this pitcher plant at the nursery the other day. It’s in a six inch pot. It’s freaking enormous. Tag says sarracenia purpurea but that seems unlikely given that it’s green with veins (like the hulk). It could eat frogs. THE LIP. What did they feed this thing… #SavageGarden #CarnivorousPlants

More Round-leaved Sundews, Drosera rotundifolia. Studies have shown that extracts of this plant have strong anti-inflammatory properties. This and other species of temperate carnivorous plants stop growing during the winter and enter a period of dormancy until the following spring, when they resume growth. #carnivorousplants #biodiversity #biology #nature #plants #botany #SavageGarden
