A hippocampus (or sea horse) riding on a wave on Stockwell Street in Glasgow. Created by Andy Scott, it was erected around 1992. Mythical aquatic equines was a subject Scott would return to later in his career, but in a much larger form, when he designed the 30 metre tall Kelpies on the Forth and Clyde Canal in Falkirk. #glasgow #sculpture #andyscott #publicart #stockwellstreet

A bollard on Pacific Quay painted by the French conceptual artist Daniel Buren in his trademark black and white stripes for the 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival. These bollards as probably the only works of art from the festival which are still in place, and even then only a few of the original 170 are still there. Silent Agitator by Ruth Ewan outside Glasgow University's ARC building. It's design is based on US stickers from 1917 which were produced for the Industrial Workers of the World union that bore the words 'What time is it? Time to organize'. When you're in the Garnethill area of Glasgow, keep an eye out for the small bird sculptures on the top of the lamp posts. There's over 150 of them and they are part of an art installation called Chookie Burdies created by Shona Kinloch in 1993. #glasgow #sculpture #garnethill #publicart

One of the Maggie's Scotties in the City sculptures in front of the entrance to the catacombs in the Necropolis in Glasgow. Designed by Adam Wright, it represents the Cù-Sìth, a supernatural dog said to roam the highlands of Scotland.
