In 2026, the share of gross domestic income going to wages & salaries *LABOR SHARE🚨-LOWEST LEVEL IN THE POST-WAR PERIOD. BEA: labor share stood at 42.7% in 2023/2024 & near that level in 2025 *a sharp drop from the late 20thC aver of ~63%.
A falling labor share typically indicates:🚨productivity, prices, or both: growing faster than wages, or that cap income (eg profits, int, rents) is capturing a larger share of income.

I’m an elderly lefty, living in South West England who’s looking for a nice place in the fediverse where I can share/ learn/ politely disagree etc with others & (occasionally) vent my frustrations & concerns about the parlous state of the world that my grandkids are growing up in!
