my favorite color blending trick on constrained systems is to use a hash table cache. if the two colors are in the table, use the result. otherwise compute result, store it, and use it. if the cache becomes too full, clear it
i came up with this technique for #pico8 but it'll work anywhere

I entered the 7-Day Roguelike Challenge again this year!
This year, I really wanted to do a pony game because the PICO-8 barely has any, and thus my entry is: The Tao of Tree Hugger

It's a game starring best hippie pone on a spiritual journey through a dungeon. This year I tried to steer away from the traditional hack-and-slash and made it more about character advancement, by which I mean getting high on mushrooms.
