Har några skålar med vatten på tomten, till fåglar och andra smådjur. Skatan verkar uppskatta det. Och när jag va ute kom två blåmesar och drack på uteplatsen trots att jag stod ett par meter ifrån. 😊

But here's the shocker... studies show that magpies are NOT actually attracted to shiny things! They’re cautious around unfamiliar things. Their curiosity and intelligence may have inspired the myth, which lives on in folklore - and in my painting.

My #painting of #magpies treasure has now moved on to the nest itself. Lovely, fiddly, detailed & painstaking work in a symphony of umbers.
