A virginal Salome! It does contain a few scribbles in the list of roles from 1913, but the rest of the pages are completely free of annotations! I tried desperately to find a score without the clutter of the English version in it. There are also small additional notes for the differing rhythms. That’s very confusing to work with! I went back and forth on whether I should write into it, and decided not to. I’m having a copy made to work with instead! #opera #Salome #Strauss #operaSinger

Pictures from last night! This was my outfit for the party after the premiere of “Kain und Abel.” The composer Felix Weingartner originally described my character Ada’s outfit as “loosely wrapped in a robe of white, fluffy fabric,” but in our production, she wears a burgundy business suit and an orange turtleneck sweater.
