#ForestFriday from the northern California redwoods, where stately Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) is surrounded by a dense forest understory of ferns, sorrel, and little shrubs.
Photographed along the Boyscout Tree Trail in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park last year in May. The trail is ~5 miles out and back if I recall, and leads to an impressive old-growth tree before it ends at a little waterfall. Worth the hike!
