You, a nonbinary person, are part of the queer community.
You should feel like you are part of it. And you can be upset when spaces that claim to represent you (a queer person), actually don't.
Anger is a sign that something must change.

The very nature of being nonbinary is breaking rules.
So, if you ever feel like some “rules” in the nonbinary community are getting in your way, then ignore them.
You didn’t break from the cage of the gender binary only to put on shackles of another kind of conformity.

Terms like pan, lesbian, bi, gay, etc. didn’t just spring into existence. These words were made to name experiences that were once unnamed.
So, if you wish, invent and use new terms to describe nonbinary orientations.
You have just as much right to define your orientation or sexuality as binary women and men.

Part of “breaking the binary” is redefining cissexist ideas, and creating the flexibility and nuance that should have been there in the first place.
Challenge binary, and cissexist assumptions as much as you like. Go ahead and “bother” people by challenging them often.
Change only happens if we make it.

It's easy to develop issues with self esteem as a nonbinary person. On one hand you're told that you don't exist. On the other, you're accused of being or doing nearly every negative thing imaginable.
You are, in fact, worthy of all the good things in life just like other people, but it's okay if you don't believe it yet.
You'll get there.

Gender-affirming hormone therapy is for nonbinary people, too, if they want it.

For many nonbinary people, there will be no opportunity to "go stealth." You may have to live being an activist and a teacher for as long as you refuse to choose one of two closets.
It is a difficult life to live and it's hardly voluntary. I hope, however, that you can bear up under the burden until a time comes, when no one will have to carry it.
For now, try to live with pride.
