NE Pacific Gray whale population plunged catastrophically over the past year, with up to eight thousand whales perishing in that period. There are only about 13,000 remaining. Deaths are accelerating due to loss of food sources caused by climate change. Gray whales were removed from the Endangered Species List over 30 years ago after population rebounded. Trump has severely weakened the ESA.
