Il dislivello complessivo è di circa 1.800 metri, distribuito su tre salite di quarta categoria che non dovrebbero comunque scalfire le ambizioni dei velocisti: la salita di Lanty (2,1 km al 4%) al km 76,5, quella di Cuzy (2,5 km al 4,5%) al km 97,8 e infine Montagny-lès-Buxy (2,7 km al 4,3%) al km 159,4. Lo sprint intermedio è invece fissato al km 45,8, nella località di Decize.

La partenza della dodicesima tappa è prevista per le 13.40, con l’arrivo a Chalon-sur-Saône stimato intorno alle 17.30. The Grande Boucle returns today, Thursday, July 16th, with the twelfth stage of the 2026 Tour de France. It is a stage designed specifically for sprinters: 179.1 km almost entirely flat, starting from the Nevers Magny-Cours Circuit and finishing in Chalon-sur-Saône.
The route today
The group will pass through Saint-Parize-le-Châtel, Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier, Decize, Cercy-la-Tour, Luzy, Cuzy, Toulon-sur-Arroux, Montceau-les-Mines, Blanzy, Buxy and Saint-Rémy before the final finish line. The total elevation gain is approximately 1,800 meters, distributed over three climbs of Category 4 that should nonetheless not diminish the ambitions of the sprinters: the climb of Lanty (2.1 km at 4%) at km 76.5, that of Cuzy (2.5 km at 4.5%) at km 97.8 and finally Montagny-lès-Buxy (2.7 km at 4.3%) at km 159.4. The intermediate sprint is instead fixed at km 45.8, in the town of Decize.

The start of the twelfth stage is scheduled for 1:40 PM, with an estimated arrival in Chalon-sur-Saône around 5:30 PM.
