First up we have Parliament Funkadelic live from The Summit in Houston, Texas in 1976 (https://youtu.be/r5aHD5ruSZ0?is=pp8KK86lCMqJWv8w) Sorry about the video quality. The audio and, of course, The vibes remain pretty immaculate to make up for it #MusComEnt #EarthWindAndFireDay #ParliamentFunkadelic #PFunk

This performance features the P Funk Mothership AKA The Mothership AKA The Holy Mothership which is a space vehicle model belonging to Dr. Funkenstein AKA the honorable George Clinton. Originally just a conceptual element of their music it became a physical prop that was used in Parliament-Funkadelic live concerts from the 1970s into the 1990s. As of 2021 a replica resides in the Oakland Museum of California #MusComEnt #EarthWindAndFireDay #ParliamentFunkadelic #Afrofuturism #PFunk

George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 by Prince. And now the reason for the #EarthWindAndFireDay season: Here’s Earth Wind and Fire LIVE in Japan in 1979 (https://youtu.be/alROoSD0BX4?is=4VsvdyVLsH5dR8L7)#MusComEnt #EarthWindAndFire

Every year I put together a Funk Playlsit for #EarthWindAndFireDay but this year I decided what better way to celebrate the day than with some live performances from the godfathers of #funk. You can listen to a MegaMix of the annual playlists here (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLe3kSl6nSbfs&si=4QLR2xdr0RDXQjuT) #MusComEnt #RetroView
