My dishwasher recently broke. As such, I've had to relearn the meditative soothing simple pleasures of washing & drying dishes.
In fact, once the dishwasher is repaired, I just might continue to hand wash. Besides the mental benefit, there is something else. This basic unit is very energy-inefficient, running at least 4 hours on normal cycle using lots of power.
I just need to remember to be miserly with water usage, because hand washing tends to use more water than dishwashers, and Colorado is in a state of severe drought.
