Just finished the fascinating John von Neumann biography "The man from the future" by Ananyo Bhattacharyya and it is a great read, tying together several breakthroughs of the 20th century and tracing the origins of ideas and technologies that keep us up at night today, like #AI The epilogue refers to an essay by John von Neumann whose title question still resonates today: "Can we survive technology?" Last year American researchers asked Miiloo, a baby-voiced, AI-enabled doll exported from China, about the status of Taiwan.
