No one in my developmental psych lectures talks about this: the grief of outgrowing someone. No fight. No villain. Just two people becoming different shapes. And you mourn them while they're still in your phone. Still "a friend." I don't think I've learned how to grieve someone who's still alive. I don't think anyone teaches you that.
