In Nairobi, a UN body is deciding if "sustainable" becomes a rubber stamp for the cage. More than 575,000 live animals traded legally between 2011–2020 carried zoonotic disease risks. Reptiles die at 3.6% in captivity (up to 28% for chameleons). "Sustainable use" measured only by population counts lets a practice pass inspection while it normalizes severe suffering. #CITES #AnimalRights #Environment #Nairobi #UN #Sustainability #ClimateJustice #News #Ecology #Protection 1/2
