De penseelkever (Trichius fasciatus) is een keversoort uit de familie van de bladsprietkevers (Scarabaeidae). Deze kevers behoren tot het geslacht Trichius, waarvan de soorten vaak herkenbaar zijn aan hun behaarde dekschilden met gele kleuren en prominente zwarte vlekken die onvolledige banden vormen. Vanwege hun harige uiterlijk en het feit dat ze van opzij gezien op een mollige bij lijken, worden ze in het Engels ook wel "Bee Beetle" genoemd.
In Nederland en België komt naast de Trichius fasciatus ook de Trichius gallicus voor. Deze twee soorten zijn lastig van elkaar te onderscheiden; vaak is microscopisch onderzoek van de genitaliën nodig voor een zekere determinatie, hoewel T. gallicus zich meestal onderscheidt doordat de voorste zwarte band op de dekschilden niet doorloopt. De levenswijze en biologie van beide soorten zijn echter ongeveer gelijk.
