Learned something new today. Went to check on the tadpoles and found these little critters. Had no idea what they were, but a little research and a friend at a quarry garden natural area confirmed they are Daphnia Pulex, or Water Fleas. Good indicator of healthy water quality, and a food source for little fish, etc.. So much so that high end aquarium folk buy them to stock their tanks.
