Some how, some way, you’ve got to. Even with the FOTUS’s manure and the rest of it. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#Reconciled I've been in a cave for forty days Only a spark to light my way I wanna give out, I wanna give in This is our crime This is our sin But I Still Believe I Still Believe Through the pain and through the grief Through the lives Through the storms Through the cries and through the wars https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s9EdEfjH4_Y&ra=m

It’s a lovely evening. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#Reconciled I'm out on my own Walkin' the streets I look at the faces that I meet I feel like I, like I want to go home What do I feel? What do I know? But I Still Believe I Still Believe Through the shame and through the grief Through the heartache Through the tears Through the waiting Through the years For people like us in places like this We need all the hope that we can get Oh, I Still Believe https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zWhDbkTmJHA&ra=m

Yeah, I’m all over the place tonight. Fuck it - gotta hear some B.O.C. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#FireOfUnknownOriginhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jUIELsVpv4M&ra=m

One of my “Minneapolis tunes” I’d hear on what was, in 1983, Rock 101FM/KDWB and liked enough I picked up the album (still in the collection with about 600 others!) and it is, as far as I’m concerned, the best tune on the album. The guitar solo work kicks. You guessed it - it was played on my album rock airshift at the first radio gig out west. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#StatesOfEmergencyhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=R3RpgDdKXC4&pp=0gcJCWgCo7VqN5tD&ra=m

The quiet here on deck: probably one of the better tunes off this album. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#So Oh, I'm hearing right and wrong so clearly There must be more than this It's only in uncertainty That we're naked and alive I hear it through the rattle of a streetcar Hear it through the things you said I can get so scared Listen to the wind I want you close I want you near I can't help but listen but I don't want to hear Hear That Voice Again https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aS88wKJp6eU&ra=m

One of the better tunes off this album. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#HardPromiseshttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AIp74acO1lM&ra=m

Around the time I started at my first radio gig in 1984, an album from some of the guys who had been in The Yardbirds during the 60s showed up. It was kinda fun playing this and other cuts off this album and maybe a Yardbirds tune to go with it. Actually getting a little cooler out here. Might have to make some hot tea. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#BoxOfFrogs My foot is down Right to the board I'm heading for That open door I'm gonna go Back Where I Started From https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s9uVWOVqGDA&ra=m

Some R.E.M. out here ondeck for the helluvit. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#LifesRichPageanthttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IxQS6lfn0yU&ra=m

It’s Friday. A pour of Evan Williams Bottled-In-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the sun peeking through the clouds from time to time and a favorite Van Halen tune to begin the evening ondeck shenanigans. Such as they are. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#FairWarning#WhatWhiskeyWillNotCurehttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rLUn42qwKHc&pp=0gcJCWQCo7VqN5tD&ra=m

This guy is gooood. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#StrongPersuaderhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UXjMN_yMhk8&ra=m

Some rain apparently inbound but I’m gonna rock until then on deck with the “Let It Go” that has absolutely nothing to do with the “Frozen” tune of the same name. Fuck. No. Played it on the radio years ago and and goddamn if I won’t play it now on deck. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#HighNDryhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pTrXFaQgS7I&ra=m

So good out here. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#Zebra We sailed away We walked 2 thousand miles and then we slipped away We looked so hard But couldn't seem to find just what the world was for Now we know Just what the journey's for https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bYMZGamPMNM&ra=m

Actual concert intro: “Ladies and gentlemen! Are you ready to rock? Presenting the amazing BLUE OYSTER CULT!” #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#FireOfUnkownOrigin https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ipqqEFoJPL4&ra=m

Kick em when they’re up, kick em when they’re down and Danny Kortchmar kicks ass on the guitar solo. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#ICantStandStillhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fwgJgTL5JmE&ra=m

And there he is on deck: enter Robin Trower (and a bourbon pour. Neat.). This is another one of those jams that’s just too short. #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#VictimsOfTheFury Jack would be a soldier Marching off to war Jill left behind but never mind She’s cried for him before https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V73eBmct1N4&ra=m

Another favorite from REM; their early material was really quite good, in this former radio disc jockey’s humble opinion anyway. 😉 #MusicOfMastodon#80sAlbumRock#Reckoning Did you never call? I waited for your call These rivers of suggestion are driving me away The trees will bend The cities wash away The city on the river There is a girl without a dream https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh-rLyklsTU&ra=m
