Got an overnight "layover" before the last leg of our trip home. This hotel is built in a generally circular arrangement around a central pool area with lots of palm trees and foliage "sprouting" from carefully chosen spots in the otherwise entirely cement lounging area. (Making me really want to call this a cee-ment pond!)

I can hear road traffic from just over the walls, and we're close enough to the airport that some of the planes are QUITE loud. But I can't see any of it from our room. Just the pool area with its carefully cultivated and manicured flora.

I get that it's a hotel and they're catering to people trying to relax on vacation, so they're trying to hide as much of the outside world as possible. But I think we collectively probably should see more of that.
