Construction of the Karteh Naw – Zaman Khan Road is underway. The project to build a new connecting road from Karteh Naw (near the water supply company) to the public road at Zaman Khan in districts eight and sixteen of Kabul city is ongoing and is expected to be ready for asphalt paving after the necessary infrastructure and ground preparation. The road is designed to be 3,070 meters long and 30 meters wide, and includes the construction of retaining walls along the road, standard drainage channels, sidewalks, flowerbeds, a bicycle lane, installation of lighting systems, and road markings. Upon completion of this road, traffic pressure on the Karteh Naw route will be reduced and vehicle traffic will be distributed normally towards Zaman Khan and the Kabul-Jalalabad road.
